Questions
Will the result really be under my size?
Yes. We aim a little below the number you type, so it passes on websites that count a kilobyte as 1,000 or as 1,024 bytes.
What if it can’t get that small?
We never pretend. If the picture would become too small to use, we say so and show the smallest version we could make.
Why does my PNG lose sharpness?
PNG has no quality setting, so the only way to make it smaller is to reduce its pixels. Saving as JPG or WebP usually looks better at the same size.
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
JPG cannot be see-through, so transparent areas turn white. PNG and WebP keep transparency.
Can I compress many pictures at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like and download them together as a ZIP.
